Making homemade sauces are so easy. They use common pantry ingredients and no additives nor preservatives. Given the simplicity, you can make this at the same time as your main dish without stressing.

One batch of this recipe makes enough for a stir-fry dish serving 4 people.

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan.

Simmer on medium heat until thickened.

This is definitely not keto friendly! I haven't tried this recipe with a sugar alternative to reduce the overall carbs. It probably would work with some adjustments like replacing the cornstarch with xantham gum. I will try this soon!

Mix cornstarch and cold water first to avoid clumping and then add the other ingredients.
Adjust sugar to your liking. I used Heinz No Added Sugar ketchup. If you use 'regular' ketchup, you might want to reduce the sugar even more.

This sauce was created during the experiments that led to my BBQ sauce. Give it a try!
